Today Peter Berkman showed me “BREATHTAKING”, a 27-page internal document allegedly prepared by the people who made the new Pepsi logo.
I can’t tell if it’s real or not! I seems like a genius hoax, but perhaps it is cutting-edge con artistry or perhaps legitimate high-level insanity.
Screenshots are here. You can also download the PDF.
Did this really happen?

I had read somewhere the brand strategy for the new pepsi logo had influence from the obama campaign

An incredible amount of seemingly arbitrary design principles. This...why artists teeter...

Sadly, yes. I believe that firm was also responsible for the Tropicana mishap.

I don’t know, but if it did we heard about it a while ago. They’re really bending the timestream, innovation-wise.
-
andrewmuto answered:
It is absolutely real. Peter Arnell’s company, the Arnell Group spearheaded the campaign as well as the recent disastrous Tropicana redesign

It seems to be real, there was some verification that the document was created within Arnell Group a few months back.

I highly doubt it, I think it’s just a stab at the poor design job OK’d by Pepsi.
-
doug answered:
It happened, and is verified. It was all over the web ~3 months ago.
-
cwphoto answered:
It looks far too pretentious to be real. I hope, for the sake of humanity, it’s a joke. =P
-
ryanb answered:
I’d agree that it’s a con job, but it was good enough to fool the higher ups at Pepsi.
